BB Gun and Arrow Found in Church Activity Room After Alarm Activated

Police also report alleged DUI driver had no license, and cannabis baggies in plain view.

Suspicious Circumstances

Police were called to Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 149 W. Brush Hill Road, at 10:51 p.m. May 9 after the building alarm went off. At the scene, police met a representative from the church, who requested the building be checked. Police found a BB gun and several arrows on a table in the basement activity room of the church, where they are not normally located. A witness saw a suspicious man walking along the north side of the building, but as of the time of the report, nothing appeared to be missing.

DUI Arrest

Anthony Delgado, 42, 739 S. Prospect Ave., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his Nissan Pathfinder for no license plate at Kearsage and Vallette at 1:49 a.m. May 10. He also had a warrant for failure to appear out of DuPage County. He was released on bond.

Driving With a Revoked License

Darien E. Wells, 25, 6700 S. Oglesby, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving with a revoked license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his silver Dodge Charger for improper lane use at St. Charles and York at 8:55 a.m. May 9. He was released on bond.

Driving With a Suspended License

Craig Y. Samuels, 27, 7350 S. Phillips Ave. Apt. 505, Chicago, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after police pulled over his green Pontiac Grand Prix for tinted windows at 155 Industrial Drive at 7:56 a.m. May 5.

Nicholas Zaszebida, 41, 749 St. Johns Place, Addison, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license after police pulled over his gray Volvo S70 for one headlight at York and Grand at 12:47 a.m. May 10. He was released on bond.

Ariana Vargas-Garcia, 23, 512 N. Ardmore Apt. 3, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license and driving without insurance after police pulled over her blue Honda Accord for violating a median and improper lane use at North Avenue and Route 83 at 8:37 a.m. May 10. She was released on I-bond.

Possession of Cannabis

Cassandra Belau, 24, 341 S. Ardmore Ave. Apt. 2R, Villa Park, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis after police were dispatched to a "motorist assist" call at St. Charles and Route 83 at 3:50 p.m. May 10. When police arrived, they saw several baggies containing cannabis residue in plan view. She was released on bond.
