Battery, Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage Reported in Elmhurst

Disorderly Conduct

Christopher J. Dwyer, 24, 128 Clara, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public intoxication after an incident at the York Theater, 150 N. York Road, at 9:14 p.m. Feb. 5. The general manager told police who were on foot patrol outside the theater that Dwyer was inside screaming, cursing and pounding the seats. Police approached Dwyer and he continued to curse and yell, then fled the theater into the City Centre. He was apprehended at Jewel. He was later released on I-bond.

Hanna Solarska, 56, 820 Parker St., Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with domestic battery after an incident at her home at 11:31 a.m. Feb. 6. She was taken to DuPage County Jail.

A 15-year-old student was charged with battery on Feb. 4 at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road. Another student told police he had been punched in the arm and repeatedly bullied by the boy for most of the school year. The offender was released on I-bond.

Criminal Damage

Someone damaged the driver side front door window and left side back window of a vehicle parked in the east parking lot at 3 Elm Creek Lane between 7:30 p.m. Jan. 17 and 7:05 a.m. Jan. 18. The vehicle was parked next to a wooded field around the north/east perimeter of the lot. Loss to both windows is estimated at $400. Police said the driver side window was smashed in, and the left rear window appeared to have a BB sized hole in it.

A woman found the rear window of her van shattered while it was parked in the lot at 4 Elm Creek Lane between 5:15 p.m. Jan. 17 and 7:15 a.m. Jan. 18. The window appeared to have been shattered by a BB-type projectile. Damage is estimated at $350.

Someone threw a brick through an office window at Med Speed, 650 W. Grand Ave. #306, between 1 and 5 a.m. Jan. 28. The window is valued at $500.

Someone wrote in blue paint “learn how to drive” and other graffiti on a vehicle while it was parked in the Schiller Street parking garage between 9:40 and 10 p.m. Jan. 28. The victim said when she was looking for a parking space, someone called out to her that she should learn how to drive. She parked, went into the theater and discovered the grafitti when she came out. The suspect was found in the area but denied talking to anyone or writing on the vehicle.

Someone punctured the tires on two vehicles parked at Elmhurst Public House, 683 W. St. Charles Road, at 8:53 p.m. Feb. 4. The owner of the bar told police that an unruly patron, who is suspected to have caused the damage, was asked to leave the bar. The man was in his mid-30s, about 6-foot-3, 260 pounds, wearing a black hat, green camoflage jacket and green pants. Damage is estimated at about $200 for each car. Witnesses said they can identify the suspect, who left the area westbound on St. Charles.

Someone broke the driver side window of a vehicle parked on the 200 block of East Armitage between 9:40 and 10:05 p.m. Feb. 8. The victim suspects her ex-boyfriend, because she broke up with him earlier in the day, but he has an alibi and is backed up by his parents. Total damage is $100.

Someone threw two empty liquor bottles at a home on the 500 block of West Armitage causing one of the front storm windows to break at 4:30 a.m. Feb. 9. The homeowner recalled hearing a loud noise at the time, but did not go outside until later in the morning.
