Attempted Burglary on Sunnyside and Multiple Arrests for Alcohol, Battery and Theft Reported

Witnesses see would-be burglar ride off on a bicycle.

Attempted Burglary

A resident of the 600 block of South Sunnyside heard knocking on her back door, then her front doorbell ringing at 1:38 p.m. Feb. 16. Shortly after that, she heard noises coming from her basement. The victim opened up her blinds and saw a white man about 30 years old, wearing gray sweatpants, a gray jacket and a knit hat jump on a bicycle and ride away. She ran out of her house yelling. A garbage collector on his regular route saw the suspect ride northbound.

DUI Arrests

Konnor W. Burns, 22, 1028 Sheringham Drive, Naperville, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over his white Dodge Charger for improper lane use at Columbia and York at 1:11 a.m. Feb. 10.

Thomas J. Stone, 28, 304 Iowa Court, Carol Stream, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his blue Chevrolet Cobalt for improper lane use and speeding at Church and Grand at 11:26 a.m. Feb. 10. He was released on bond.

Justin Johnson, 24, 48 W. Timberlake Trail, Oswego, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his white Honda Accord for improper lane use at York and Virginia at 2 a.m. Feb. 11. He was released on I-bond.

Anthony D. Cahill, 44, 3106 N. Haussen Court, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his tan Mazda 3 for improper lane use and speeding at Riverside Drive and Route 83 at 2:07 a.m. Feb. 12. He was released on bond.

Minor Drivers Charged with Consumption

Daniel A. Corso, 20, 150 E. Schiller St. Apt. 804, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and driving without insurance after police pulled over his beige Nissan Altima for one headlight and tinted windows at South and York streets at 4:23 a.m. Feb. 11. He was released on I-bond.

Armando Palomo, 19, 119 Mayfield, Streamwood, was arrested and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor after police pulled over his blue Ford Ranger at Berkley and Prairie Path Lane for expired registration and disobeying a stop sign at 12:34 a.m. Feb. 13. He was released on bond.

Domestic Battery

Albert R. Davis, 54, 325 Laurel, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with domestic battery at his home at 10:15 a.m. Feb. 10. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Criminal Trespass

Tony Ray, 36, 576 N. Kenilworth, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass at 9:08 p.m. Feb. 6. He was found at a business on the 600 block of North York after he was issued a no-trespass notice. He was released on bond.

Warrant Arrests

Eric Darel Bausch, 31, 785 N. Van Auken, was arrested and cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police went to his home to serve him a warrant at 9 p.m. Feb. 6. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Esteran Orduno, 39, 986 N. Virginia St., was arrested on a warrant at his home for failure to appear in court at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 14. He was released on bond.

Theft Arrests

Amayrani Maldonado-Benit, 18, 448 Rose St., Bensenville, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she reportedly was seen by a security officer taking $57 in merchandise from Kmart, 265 S. Route 83, at 2:57 p.m. Feb. 11. She was released on bond.

Zahra Amanda Mbome, 28, 118 N. Summit Ave., Villa Park, was arrested and charged with retail theft after she allegedly shoplifted at Kmart, 265 S. Route 83, at 3:09 p.m. Feb. 14. She was released on bond.

Ashley N. Villanueva, 21, 907 S. York Road, Bensenville, was arrested at 10:08 a.m. Feb. 15 and charged with theft after she allegedly stole $250 from the car wash registers at Delta Sonic, 600 W. North Ave. Villanueva, who is an employee of Delta Sonic, allegedly admitted to the theft after she was interviewed by her manager, who questioned several transactions for $0 that were recorded when the customer paid cash, and the license plate of an unlimited pre-pay customer being used multiple times in one day. She was released on I-bond and given a no-trespass order.
