Arrests in Elmhurst Include Parole Violation, Drug Possession

Police also report people arrested on warrants and for DUI.

Parole Violation

Eric Gross, 32, 475 W. Butterfield Road, was arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia after a parole officer conducted a routine check at his home at 1:23 p.m. March 8. Gross is on parole out of Colorado. He was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Possession of cannabis

James A. Sullivan, 18, 866 Colfax, was arrested and charged with possession of cannabis, failure to dim headlights and operating an uninsured vehicle after a traffic stop at Spring and McKinley at 12:26 a.m. March 10. He was released on I-bond to his parents.

A woman who was chaperoning a high school choir trip reported to police that one of the students on the trip, a 17-year-old girl, was in possession of cannabis at 9:40 a.m. March 19. Police reported to the Courtyard by Marriott, 370 N. Route 83, and took the girl into custody. She was charged under city ordinance with possession of cannabis and released on I-bond.

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Sean Waffird, 18, 362 E. St. Charles Road, was cited for speeding and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at Vallette and Cherry streets at 4:03 p.m. March 8.

A 15-year-old girl was issued two city ordinance citations for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of tobacco at 2 p.m. March 15 at York High School, 355 W. St. Charles Road. A hall monitor reportedly entered a girls restroom and detected the odor of cigarettes, when the girl exited one of the stalls. She was taken to the dean’s office, where they located the cigarettes, a wind instrument mouth piece that smelled of burnt cannabis and three firecrackers. She reportedly denied the items were hers, but police said they were found in her backpack. She was released on I-bond to her mother.

DUI Arrests

Brian P. Tomko, 23, 4129 Central Ave., Western Springs, was arrested and charged with DUI and improper lane use after a police stopped him for driving the wrong way down a one-way street at York and Virginia at 1:01 a.m. March 11. He was released on I-bond.

Marianne Considine, 49, 3S030 Barkley Ave., Warrenville, was arrested and charged with DUI after police responded to a report of a possible DUI driver at 7:34 p.m. March 11 at Route 83 and North Avenue. She was released on I-bond.

Lisa C. Gareski, 32, 4221 Windrift Drive Apt. 1D, Aurora, was arrested and charged with DUI and failure to signal after her vehicle was reported behind Oberweis Dairy, York and Butterfield roads, at 4:04 a.m. March 12. She was released on I-bond.

Elizabeth L. Debaltz, 23, 714 Hammerschmidt, Lombard, was arrested and charged with DUI, failure to signal and obstructed view after a traffic stop at 3:53 a.m. March 17 at Roosevelt Road and Euclid. She was released on I-bond.

Sandra A. Carrillo, 30, 308 W. Dale Drive, Addison, was arrested and charged with DUI after police received a call at 11 p.m. March 17 that an intoxicated mother was late picking up her three kids from daycare. She was located in the lot of the business, Kidz Drop In, 602 N. Michigan. She was released on I-bond.

Yousuf E. Tabani, 42, 19W241 Gingerbrook Drive Apr. N, Oak Brook, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, possession of cannabis, improper lane use, failure to signal and expired registration at 2:32 a.m. March 18 at Roosevelt and Salt Creek Lane. He was released on I-bond.

Angelika W. Derlaga, 24, 16W555 Mockingbird Lane Bldg. 30 Apt. 101, Willowbrook, was arrested and charged with DUI, following too closely, failure to signal and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after a traffic stop at Prospect and Roosevelt roads at 3:52 a.m. March 19. She was released on bond.

Jonathan A. Stewart, 27, 3129 Laconia Lane, Aurora, was arrested and cited for DUI, improper lane use and disobeying a stop sign after a traffic stop at Butterfield and Roosevelt roads at 3:52 a.m. March 20. He was released on I-bond.

Mark S. Christiansen, 26, 19W023 Avenue Normandy East, Oak Brook, was arrested and charged with DUI after a traffic stop at St. Charles Road and West Avenue at 4:49 a.m. March 19.

Marcos V. Carrillo-Tello, 25, 1544 N. 32nd Ave., Melrose Park, was arrested and charged with DUI, improper lane use, disobeying a traffic signal and no insurance after a traffic stop at North Avenue and Route 83 at 1:46 a.m. March 22. He was released on bond.

Warrant Arrests

Brandon J. Fix, 20, 1921 Spring Valley Road, Jackson, Wisc., was arrested and charged with driving an uninsured vehicle and squealing his tires after a traffic stop at York Street and North Avenue at 10:34 p.m. March 4. Police discovered he had a valid warrant out of Glendale Heights for failure to appear. He posted a cash bond on the Elmhurst charges and was released on I-bond for the warrant.

Devera Green, 36, 4313 St. Charles Road Apt. GS, Bellwood, was arrested on a warrant out of DuPage County for failure to appear on a driving with a suspended license charge. He was a passenger in a car stopped for a seat belt violation at 10:26 a.m. March 10 at Elizabeth and Route 83. He was released on bond.

Arthur J. Reeves, 22, 590 Grey Stone Lane, Bolingbrook, was arrested after police reponded to the 7-Eleven, 155 E. First St., at 2:28 a.m. March 12, for a report of a suspicious person. Reeves was found to have valid warrants for trespassing. He was served a no trespass order and was taken to DuPage County Jail.

David Lipka, 28, 379 Scott St., Elmhurst, was taken into custody at 1:53 p.m. March 12 at Spring and St. Charles roads on three failure to appear warrants. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Thomas L. Montgomery, 42, 1932 Maple #2, Evanston, was arrested at 12:41 a.m. March 14 after police stopped him for riding his bicycle without lights at St. Charles and Spring Road. Police discovered he had a valid warrant for failure to appear out of DuPage County. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Arturo J. Salas Jr., 30, 406 Emroy Ave., Elmhurst, turned himself in at 11:19 a.m. March 14 at the police station, 125 E. First St., on an outstanding warrant out of Will County for failure to appear on a driving with a suspended license violation. He was release on bond.

Daniel Lipka, 28, 1S215 Ingersoll, Villa Park, was arrested on two failure to appear warrants at 3:04 p.m. March 15 at 4510 Butterfield Road, Hillside. He was released on bond.
