Alcohol Arrests Involve a Crash, Driving on Rims

Ecstasy, cocaine and marijuana were in the possession of a Bensenville man who tried to flee, police said.

DUI Arrests

Pedro Salinas, 28, 285 N. Richmond Apt. 32, Clarendon Hills, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license after police pulled over his Chevy Cavalier for improper lane use at Route 83 and North Avenue at 1:18 a.m. Oct. 14. He was released on bond.

Danielle Wolke, 27, 5200 Lemon Road, Hanover Park, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her black Ford Explorer for improper lane use and speeding at Route 83 and North Avenue at 12:36 a.m. Oct. 16. She was released on bond.

Pawel Soja, 41, 9342 Landings Lane, Des Plaines, was arrested and charged with DUI after police observed a black Chrysler van parked with the motor running at South and Kenilworth at 10:47 a.m. Oct. 18. The officer said he could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from inside the vehicle. Soja was released on bond.

Connor McDermott, 18, 643 W. Crockett, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI, consumption of alcohol by a minor, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane use and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after his blue Volkswagon Jetta crashed into a light pole at Old Grand and Grand at midnight Oct. 19. Two passengers in the vehicle were charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. They all were released on bond.

Rigoberto Arauz, 48, 17W06 Foster, Wood Dale, was arrested and charged with DUI and resisting arrest after police pulled over his gray Toyota RAV4 for speeding and improper lane use at North and West at 1:20 a.m. Oct. 19. He was released on bond.

Cassondra Zimbelman, 23, 1125 E. Railroad Apt. 4, Sandwich, was arrested and charged with DUI after police said she was driving her green Pontiac Sunfire on the rims, with two tires "completely gone from the vehicle," at North Avenue and Route 83 at 4:42 a.m. Oct. 20.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

Luis Barajas, 32, 1107 W. Hillside Apt. D, Bensenville, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis and resisting a peace officer after police pulled over his white Cadillac Escalade for failure to signal at York and Grand at 8:02 p.m. Oct. 18. Police said he fled on foot after the traffic stop and was later taken into custody. Police said he dropped cannabis while running, and he had 3 grams of cocaine and three ecstasy pills in his vehicle. He was taken to DuPage County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct

Vincent F. Sabo, 50, 1515 W. Monroe, Chicago, was arrested and charged with urinating in public, open alcohol in public and public intoxication after police were called to the Metra station for a subject who exposed himself at 9:04 p.m. Oct. 19.
