Addison Man Wanted on Drunken Driving Charge Caught Drunken Driving: Cops

An Addison man ran a red light and caught a new drunken driving case to go with the one he was already wanted on.

The Elmhurst cops pulled over a drunken driver and found out he was wanted for another drunken driving case, police said.

Eduardo Contreras, 29, of 130 S. Lincoln Ave. was booked into the DuPage County jail on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence, driving while license suspended, disobeying a red light and making an improper turn.

The cops stopped Contreras about 1 a.m. Tuesday near the corner of First Street and North Addision Avenue.

After determining Contreras was drunk, an officer discovered he was also wanted on a DuPage County warrant charging him with driving under the influence. Jail records show the earlier charges stemmed from a 2011 case.

Two passengers—Efrain Villegas, 27, of 104 N. Church St. in Addison and Jesus Cardenas, 22, of 44 Elizabeth Drive in Addison—were charged with the illegal transportation of open alcohol. Villegas and Cardenas were released after they posted bond.
