Potential Kidnapping, Threat With a Gun, Child Abuse Cases Investigated by Elmhurst Police Last Weekend

Ten DUI arrests also reported between Friday and Sunday night.

Possible Kidnapping?

Police were called to the area of Eggleston and Prospect for a possible kidnapping at 11:58 p.m. Nov. 12. Three witnesses said they saw a woman with black duct tape over mouth in the back seat of a small burgundy or red "beater" condition car. Police searched the area but did not locate the vehicle.

Unauthorized Use of a Weapon

A  former employee of JR Automotive, 800 block of North Larch Avenue, came in to the business at 2:55 p.m. Nov. 11 with a gun. She was wearing a security uniform and had a badge, and she told employees she is now employed by CHA. Employees at JR Automotive were uncomfortable by the visit and called police. The woman told police by phone she was just there to say hello to friends. She was served a no-trespass order.

A woman and her 15-year-old daughter came into the police station at 2:55 p.m. Nov. 13 to report that the girl had been sexually assaulted by her stepfather multiple times over the past few years. She said she and her stepfather no longer live together. Department of Children and Family Services was notified.

Mary E. Pyne, 27, 15W651 Diversey, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after police pulled over her black Ford Escape for disobeying a flashing red light at 1:07 a.m. Nov. 11 at York and Palmer Drive. She was released on I-bond.

Joseph L. Ayers, 29, 10742 W. LaPorte, Mokena, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his tan Kia Rio for improper lane use at 1:16 a.m. Nov. 11 at York and Diversey. He was released on I-bond.

Miriam F. Godenius, 56, 197 W. Armitage Ave. Apt. 304, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her gray Ford Focus for one headlight at 1:22 a.m. Nov. 11 at York and Diversey. She was released on I-bond.

Andrea Chase, 23, 257 N. Michigan, Elmhurst, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over her white Buick Century for speeding and disobeying a stop at 8:23 a.m. Nov. 11 at Third and Maple. She also had a warrant out of Cook County. She was released on bond.

Mark D. Linkinhoker, 50, 733 Cynthia, Glendale Heights, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his white Ford Ranger for improper lane use at 10:49 p.m. Nov. 11 at Route 83 and Lake Street. He was released on I-bond.

Hugo A. Rodriguez, 22, 2622 N. Kilbourn, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI, no insurance, driving without a license and endangering the life of a child after police pulled him over at 2:11 a.m. Nov. 12 at Lake and Walnut for improper lane use and failure to signal. He was released on I-bond.

Jonathan D. Zielinski, 28, 329 E. Wilson, Batavia, was arrested and charged with DUI after his orange Dodge Charger crashed into a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old Aurora resident at 8:48 p.m. Nov. 12 at Grand and Lake. He was released on I-bond.

Byron C. Palmer, 22, 617 N. Edgewood, Lombard, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his green Chrysler 300M for improper lane use at North Avenue and Interstate 290 at 12:03 a.m. Nov. 13. He was released on bond.

Daniel Hernandez, 39, 7952 S. Knox, Chicago, was arrested and charged with DUI after police pulled over his silver Chevrolet Cavalier for speeding, failure to signal and improper lane use at Roosevelt Road and Villa Avenue at 5:04 a.m. Nov. 13. He was released on I-bond.

Bradley W. Burnett, 23, 818 College Blvd. Apt. 202, Addison, was arrested and charged with DUI and driving without insurance after police pulled over his Mercury Grand Marquis for improper lane use and speeding on Route 83 between Second Street and St. Charles Road at 2:06 a.m. Nov. 14. He was released on I-bond.
