If You Joke About Wanting to 'Blow Stuff Up,' Police May Search Your Bedroom

Police also respond to found fireworks and a potty on fire.

Joke Leads to Police Search

Police were notified by an anonymous source that someone had posted on his Facebook page that he was in possession of C-4 explosives and he wanted to "blow some stuff up." Officers went to the suspect's home at 3:30 p.m. July 3, and he consented to a search of his room. Police said they didn't find any C-4 explosives. The suspect said he was only joking around on Facebook.

Arson

Police responded to a fire in a dumpster on the 100 block of Pine Street at 10:37 p.m. July 10. Police said the dumpster, which was "completely engulfed" in flames, was extinguished by the fire department.

Fireworks

While on routine patrol, police saw about 10 people standing around one person, who was lighting fireworks at 9:18 p.m. July 7 at Conrad Fischer School, 888 N. Wilson. The suspect was released at the scene without charges and the fireworks were placed into evidence.

A man found 50 to 60 feet of unused bunker bomb firecrackers at Berens Park at 7:57 a.m. July 8. Police took them to be destroyed.

A resident of the 500 block of South Swain told police that the neighbor west of her was shooting off bottle rockets and they were bouncing off of her house at 9:44 p.m. July 4. The suspect was advised to stop.
