Letter: Duckworth Congratulates Elmhurst for Receiving Bike-friendly Community Designation

"I am inspired by the commitment to making Elmhurst a bike-friendly town."—US Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-8th)

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Elmhurst on receiving the designation of a Bronze Level Bike Friendly Community from the League of American Bicyclists. It is a distinguished accomplishment that your community fully deserves after four years of hard work.

I am inspired by the commitment to making Elmhurst a bike-friendly town.  By installing more bike racks, you have saved tens of thousands of dollars for the city. Even more importantly, this work has helped raise the wellbeing of Elmhurst residents by taking steps to make biking around town safer. By encouraging people to bike and get exercise, you are also helping make Elmhurst a healthier community. The dedication to reaching the goal of becoming a Bicycle Friendly Community has paid off, and I hope the efforts continue, because you are serving the community well.

I look forward to our continuing partnership in serving the constituency of the Eighth Congressional District.  Congratulations again!—US Rep. Tammy Duckworth (D-8th)
