Wife of Former Elmhurst Police Chief Loses Her Battle With Cancer

Debbie Millner passed away on Tuesday.

News sources are reporting that Debbie Millner, wife of Sen. John Millner (R-Carol Stream), has died.

Mrs. Millner passed away on Tuesday morning after a long battle with cancer, according to the Illinois Review.

Senate Republican Leader Christine Radogno (R-Lemont) announced her death on the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon, the report said.

John Millner was a police officer in Elmhurst beginning in 1972 and rose through the ranks to police chief. He  served as chief for 16 years.

The Millners have two children and one grandchild, according to biography information on his website.

According to a release from the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, a visitation for Mrs. Millner will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 4, followed by a memorial service at 7 p.m. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1244 W. Army Trail Road, Carol Stream. The church is located 1/4-mile west of County Farm Road on the south side of the street.

A private service will be held Saturday, May 5.
