Obituary: Shirley Webb, 84, formerly of Elmhurst

Visitation for Mrs. Webb will be Thursday, followed by a funeral on Friday, at Pedersen-Ryberg.

Shirley Webb, 84, formerly of Elmhurst, passed away peacefully with her children by her side Friday, Nov. 30.

Shirley attended University of Illinois prior to becoming a professional bowler and winning the national title. After a long and enduring courtship, she married Chuck. They started their family in Hartford City, Ind., before moving to Elmhurst in 1969. Although her devotion was to her family, Shirley followed her passion to a floral career with Pfund & Clint.

There was a continuous revolving door for friends and family, not only in their Elmhurst home but at their cottage on Lauderdale Lakes, Wisc., or when on Marco Island, Fla.

She was the cherished daughter of the late John A. and Mabel M. Michal, prominent owners of Michal’s Florist on Chicago’s south side; devoted wife of 55 years to the late Charles "Chuck" Webb; loving mother of Jay (Nancy) Webb, Terri (Ted) Crapple, Lee (Dave) Williams and Linn Kroeger; and dear grandmother of Erik and Brian Webb, Kyle and Jennifer Williams, and Allison Kroeger.

May we always remember the way she could light up a room with her smile as she is now reunited in eternity with her best friend.
