Marilyn Groeneveld

Marilyn Groeneveld (nee Buenger), 80, of Sun City Ariz., formerly of Elmhurst, has died.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorne. She is survived by her children, Teresa, Marla, Laura, Pamela and Sandra; her step-children Diane and Greg; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 29, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 345 S. Kenilworth Ave., Elmhurst.

Mary Rose Sotor

Mary Rose Sotor, 93, has died.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John. She is survived by her children, Andrea, Steve, Jennifer and Ed, and her 10 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Road, Elmhurst. Interment is private.

John Francis Monahan

John Francis Monahan, 58, a graduate of York High School in Elmhurst, died June 21 in Wisconsin. He spent six years in the U.S. Army, reaching the rank of captain.

He is survived by his children, Brendan and Bridget.

Services were held Friday in Wisconsin.

Charles Heider

Charles M. Heider, 97, formerly of Elmhurst, died June 8 in Wisconsin. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife, June McGary, and his second wife, Marie O'Connell. He is survived by his sons, Daniel and Paul; his grandchildren, Mitchell and Laura; and his great-granddaughter, Ava.

Services will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside at a future date.
