Four with strong ties to the Elmhurst community have died. Here is information about their services.

Leonard Prescott

Leonard F. "Len" Prescott, 91, a longtime Elmhurst resident, has died.

Mr. Prescott was a Navy veteran of World War II and a life member of the American Legion and VFW.

He was married for 68 years to his wife, Regina, and was the father of Len, Bill and Jeanne. He had seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19, at Pedersen Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York St., Elmhurst. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at Immaculate Conception Church, 134 Arthur St., Elmhurst.

George B. Ackermann, 88, of Elmhurst, has died.

Mr. Ackerman served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, his daughter Janice and his grandchildren, Brittany and Derek.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Pedersen Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York St. in Elmhurst.

Mae Fiedler

Mae Marie Fiedler, 94, of Elmhurst, died July 15. 

Mae is survived by her daughter, Carole; her beloved companion, Stan; her seven grandchildren; and her many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private interment will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Constance Hartmann

Constance J. "Connie" Hartmann, formerly of Elmhurst, died June 9 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, and her daughter, Pamela Lee. She is survived by her sons, John, Robert and Thomas; her five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She moved from Elmhurst to Phoenix in 1993 upon her retirement.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 11300 N. 64th St., Scottsdale, AZ.
