Gary Hand

Gary Michael Hand, 68, of Elmhurst, has died. He was a Vietnam veteran who served in the US Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Alexandria; his children, Michelle and Denise; and his three grandchildren. 

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 W. 31st St., Brookfield.

Gladys Thomson

Gladys Thomson, 88, formerly of Elmhurst, died Dec. 21. 

She worked for York High School as a financial secretary from 1975 until her retirement in 1987.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald. She is survived by her children, Ellen, James and Karen, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles. A service will follow at 2 p.m.
