Death Notice: The Rev. Raymond Garbin, Senior Priest at Immaculate Conception Parish

He will lie in state Monday, followed by a funeral Mass on Tuesday in Joliet.

The Rev. Raymond P. Garbin, 76, who served as senior priest of Immaculate Conception Parish in Elmhurst, died Thursday, March 28.

Rev. Garbin was ordained in 1963 at the Cathedral of St. Raymond in Joliet, and his first assignment was to St. Pius X Parish in Lombard. He served a number of churches throughout the 1970s and 1980s. His final assignment was at Immaculate Conception Parish in Elmhurst, where he served as parochial vicar in 1999, and later as senior priest in 2012.

His body will lie in state from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, at St. Joseph Church, 410 Jefferson St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville.
