Death Notice: Joseph J. Steffen Sr., 81
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9.
Joseph J. Steffen Sr., a 35-year resident of Elmhurst, died Jan. 24.
Mr. Steffen served his country during the Korean War, served Meals on Wheels well into his retirement years, played tennis into his 70s and volunteered at the Oak Brook Golf Club. He also was active in community theater. He was proud of his two sons, Joseph Jr. and James, and spent the last months of his life in Kansas City to be close to his youngest son's family. He had eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at Holy Sepulchre church, 6001 W. 111th St., in Alsip.
