Death Notice: H. William Diener, Longtime Elmhurst Resident

H. William Diener, 95, a longtime Elmhurst resident, has died.

Mr. Diener was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the North African and Italian campaigns, a former chaplain for Elmhurst VFW and a member of the American Legion THB 187.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lillian, and his son, William Diener III. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Diener, Julie (Jeff) Ernst and Diane (Murray) Freeman; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at noon Monday, May 20, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 345 S. Kenilworth Ave., Elmhurst. Interment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
