Meet Jim Long, Candidate for DuPage County Board

My name is Jim Long, and I am a candidate for DuPage County Board District 2, one of the three open board positions that voters will select on March 20.  I have been walking your neighborhoods meeting many great people, but thought this might be a way to reach those I've missed.

I am a life-long resident of Downers Grove, but still have fond memories and a few bruises from playing basketball against former York stars Paul Schultz and Scott Wright.  I now live in Downers Grove with my wife Kathleen and our five children.  After a 20 year career as a golf professional, I now run a business which helps get REAL Republicans (those with true principles) elected.  With Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln in our logo, you can imagine some of the things we stand for as a company.

In my spare time, I am an active officer and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and coach every sport going, spending as much time with my children as I can.  I am running mainly to help assure that DuPage County provides many of the same experiences for my children and all of us as I enjoyed growing up here.  I would love to be able to make short drives to visit my grandchildren some day, but I want to make sure that there are jobs available and affordable housing for the next generation.
