Red, White, and 14U-Blue Cougar Win!
14U-Blue Elmhurst Cougars win Stars & Strikes tournament.
It’s fitting that a team wearing red, white, and blue win it all on Memorial Day. That’s exactly what the Elmhurst Cougars 14U-Blue team did at the 2013 Stars and Strikes tournament in West Chicago. The Cougars had a 5 win, 1 loss record in going the distance. The journey started on Saturday, May 25th with a 5-4 win over the West Michigan Outlaws, a 5-11 loss to the Crystal Lake Bombers, followed by a 6-4 winner against the Warrenville Warriors. Sunday’s bracket play featured more tight games and stellar performances by the boys. The Cougars opened bracket play with a quarter-final 9-7 win over the St Charles North Stars. A semi-final rematch against the Crystal Lake Bombers followed, this time the contest going to the Elmhurst Cougars with a 9-7 win. The boys capped-off their Stars and Strikes tournament with a hard fought 7-5 win over the Elgin Warriors.
