14U-Red Elmhurst Cougars are Batavia Memorial Champions

The Elmhurst Cougars 14U – Red baseball team are the champions of the 2013 Batavia Memorial Day Tournament. The Cougars Memorial weekend journey started with a solid 7-4 win over the Frankfort Square Raptors, a 2-10 loss at the hands of the LaGrange Lions, followed by convincing 12-5 win against the host Batavia Bulldogs. The playoff round saw the Cougars defeating the Elburn Express 7-3 in the semifinals; and the defeat of the Geneva Vikings - White 10-9 to take home the championship crown!

The Cougars are coached by Scott Sutton, Paul Morris, and Mike Trapani, and include (in alphabetical order): Michael Bernal, Jack Crowley, Tom Dunne, John Hoffman, Mark Leali, Nick Lee, Brett Moorman, Trey Morris, Danny Stein (not pictured), Martin Stein (not pictured), Matthew Sutton, and Nicholas Trapani.

This Cougar team is a member of the Elmhurst Cougars Baseball and Softball Club. Formed in 1992, the Cougars are Elmhurst’s oldest full-time youth travel baseball and softball organization. For their 21st year the Cougars are fielding seven baseball and four fast-pitch softball teams for youth aged 9 through 16. Want to be a Cougar and wear red, white, and blue?
