11U Cougars Win Big Hit Tournament

Hard work, good times, and continuous improvement pay off for the 11U Elmhurst Cougars as they capture their first tournament win as a Cougar team.

Hard work, good times, and continuous improvement pay off for the 11U Elmhurst Cougars as they capture their first tournament win as a Cougar team.  On June 9th the boys won the championship of the Warrenville Big Hit Tournament; furthermore, the Cougars went five-and-O to win it!  The road to the trophies included a 9-6 victory over cross-town rivals the Elmhurst Extreme, 10-8 win over Blue Chip Select, 1-0 victory over Huntley Blue, a 9-6 semi-finals winner over Glendale Heights Titans, and a championship game 10-9 thriller win over the Blue Chip Select.

The 11U Cougars are coached by Keith Rozmus, Mike D’Amore, and Tom Brown.  The boys are, in alphabetical order, James Albin, Beau Brady, Ryan Brown, Devin D’Amore, Oscar Duda, Tyler Gelsomino, Jake Hansmann, Jimmy Hoffman, Joe Orrico, and Alec Rozmus.

This Cougar team is a member of the Elmhurst Cougars Baseball and Softball Club. Formed in 1992, the Cougars are Elmhurst’s oldest full-time youth travel baseball and softball organization. For their 21st year the Cougars are fielding seven baseball and four fast-pitch softball teams for youth aged 9 through 16. Want to be a Cougar and wear red, white, and blue? Tryouts for our 2013-2014 teams will be August 3 – August 4, 2013; times by age-group will be announced in the coming weeks.
