Elmhurst College hosted its traditional Festival of Lessons and Carols at Hammerschmidt Chapel Dec. 5. It is a service of Christian worship that dates back to the late 19th century. Through nine Bible readings, interspersed with hymns and choir music, the service recounts the fall of mankind, the promise of the Messiah and the birth of Jesus.
In the decorated Hammerschmidt Chapel, during this season of Advent, the Festival of Lessons and Carols reminds all of the message of love and healing for mankind.
