Thousands of Treats Await Eager Kids at This Saturday's Egg Hunts

The timing is right for families to hit them both.

Blink and it's over! Be sure to put this on your calendar and, whatever you do, arrive early. Your kids have long memories and will never let you live it down if you miss this.

Two Easter Egg hunts will be held this Saturday, April 7, in Elmhurst, and both will feature one very busy bunny.

The first, sponsored by the Elmhurst Park District, will be held at 10 a.m. sharp at , 175 Prospect Ave. Children ages 1 to 10 are invited to bring their baskets and grab as many treat-filled eggs as they can get their hands on. Following the event, the bunny will pose for photos.

New this year will be the Doggie Eggstravaganza. Following the egg hunt for kids, at 11 a.m. dogs will be able to search Wilder Park for colorful Easter eggs filled with treats more to their liking. Dogs must be leashed, wearing current rabies tags and accompanied by a responsible human age 16 or older. The dogs will need a basket, too, so don't forget to bring one.

Also on Saturday, at 1 p.m., the Spring Road Business Association will hold its annual egg hunt at the gazebo on Spring Road. The Easter Bunny, fresh off his Wilder Park tour, will be waiting to greet the kids.

The shops along Spring Road also will offer treats to kids who stop by.

Both events are free. Be sure to take lots of photos to post on Elmhurst Patch.
