Jumping for Joy: Elmhurst Eagles Cheerleading Squad Headed for State

State championship will be held Dec. 6-8.

The sixth grade #118 Junior Varsity Cheerleading squad of the Elmhurst Eagles won first place at the Bill George Youth Football League Cheer Competition at Willowbrook High School Sunday, Oct. 27, much to the excitement of their fans. The crowd went wild, ringing their green cowbells when the award was announced. 

Outscoring teams from Carol Stream, Downers Grove, Glendale Heights and Hinsdale, the Elmhurst Eagles are now qualified for the IRCA Cheer State Championship, which will be held at the Sears Centre Arena Dec. 6-8.

The squad is led by coaches Lisa George and Tracey Cook; junior coaches Grace Conwell, Heather George, Lindsey Medema and Jordan Perez; and Team Mom Jenn Vince.

The athletes on the #118 Junior Varsity Elmhurst Eagles Squad are Evie Anagnos, Laurel Baumann, Schylar Berger, Julia Brandt, Zoey Buonamici, Abby Coglianese, Tegan Cook, Grace DiCanio, Courtney Dunlap, Clarissa Gecsey, Megan George, Julie Gibas, Sarah Johnson, Ariel Kimbler, Sophia Lazarski, Khloe Lesus, Corinn McKenna, Amber Nacyk, Peyton Renno, Danielle Renno, Irene Reynolds, Emily Sadowicz, Nikki Spyropoulos and Sophia Tarasuk.
