Introducing: IC Catholic Prep State Scholars

These kids rank in the Top 10 percent of all high school seniors across the state.

Twelve students from IC Catholic Prep School in Elmhurst were recognized as Illinois State Scholars for 2014-15, President and Principal Pamela Levar announced.

The prestigious award is given annually by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission to recognize students who rank in the top 10 percent of seniors from high schools across the state. Selection is based on SAT, ACT and of Prairie State Achievement Exam scores, and/or class rank at the end of junior year. High school guidance counselors work in conjunction with ISAC to determine the winners.

Illinois State Scholars from IC Catholic Prep are Delaney D’Amore, Joseph Dunne, Thomas Guinan, Liam Hendricks, Kimberly Martino, Andrew Muno, Sean Placey, Sean Sutton, Francis Vasquez and Grace Vitek, all from Elmhurst, Mark Noftz of Villa Park and Brandon Schley of Northlake.

Originally formed as the Illinois State Scholarship Commission in 1957, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission provides students of all ages and backgrounds with resources and support to obtain financial aid for higher education.
