Chicago Bear James Anderson Brightens Kids' Day in Elmhurst Tuesday

Did you know Anderson is an artist in the off-season?

Chicago Bears linebacker James Anderson visited the Elmhurst Verizon Wireless store Tuesday.

He signed a one-year, $1.25 million deal with the Bears in March after spending seven seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He is the first Bear to wear No. 50 since Mike Singletary.

According to a profile of Anderson in the Chicago Sun-Times, the 30-year-old is known to mentor other rookie players. He's also an artist, working in the off-season on abstract oil paintings, according to the article.

His charitable work includes delivering gifts to a boy with leukemia, visiting orphanages in Mexico and putting on a football camp for underprivileged children, according to the Sun-Times.
