NEDSRA's 15th Annual 100 Hole Challenge Golf Marathon

Addison, IL., April 11, 2011–For some golfers, putting in the lush, green surroundings of a local course with 18 holes on a clear day is the perfect situation. Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association is fulfilling golfers’ wishes by giving them plenty of game play as they help individuals with disabilities through its 15th annual 100 Hole Challenge Golf Marathon 8 a.m. Thursday, May 5.

Wood Dale Park District’s Salt Creek Golf Club, 701 W. Thorndale Ave., is the setting to this fun event.  Participants will enjoy breakfast, lunch and refreshments throughout the day. Snacks and beverages available upon completion of golf. There are also prizes and incentives and participation gift packages.

NEDSRA is seeking interested golfers who want to golf 100 holes in one day, or 50 with a partner and are willing to solicit sponsors and pledges on their behalf to support individuals with disabilities. NEDSRA’s goal this year is to raise $50,000 to support its accessible transportation program which allows the agency to provide participants with door-to-door transportation to year-round recreation programs.

“NEDSRA is delighted to see some new golfers and many returning golfers, some who have participated in the event every year,” said Karen Lesniak, Director of Fund Development. “We are grateful for the sponsor support for this event from MB Financial Bank, Raymond James & Associates and Tom Chapman. MB Financial is aligning its 100th  anniversary celebration with supporting our marathon. Its employees are actively involved with golfer participation and many local MB Financial Bank branches are helping promote and support this outstanding fund raiser.”
