District 205 student talent will also be showcased at this year’s Ball. Posters, invitations and the marketing graphics for Midnight Masquerade feature art work designed by two York High School students. Members of the York Drama Club will give attendees a special welcome and the York Jazz ensemble will kick off the music. The event’s fall-themed décor will feature decorations made by middle and grammar school students of District 205. Students in the York High School culinary arts program are whipping up a special party favor for each guest and students from the Transition Program have made favorite sports team coasters, to be included in the auction.

Starting on Monday, Oct. 10, the Foundation will be auctioning off a number of unique items for bid online, including: Movie Night with the Hawthorne Principal; front row graduation seats and premier event parking at Bryan and Churchville; front row seats and parking for Emerson’s Fairy Tale Follies; a Kids’ Party at the Jackson School Gym; warm cookies, cold milk and a bedtime story with the Lincoln Principal, and a Cancun Vacation - just to name a few of the priceless experiences offered.

This year’s auction items include a week in Maui, a condo in Steamboat Springs, Colo., a special dinner for eight cooked in your home by the chefs of Francesca’s Amici, a family Disney World package, an RV rental for four and much, much more. With your help, we can bring educational experiences that inspire, nurture and reward our children and teachers directly into their classrooms. Created in 1989, the District 205 Foundation for Educational Excellence has funded over $1.3 million – $75,000 this past year alone – to underwrite innovative programs and grants to teachers, community members and students in all Elmhurst District 205 schools. We can’t do it without YOU.
