IC Catholic Prep: How They Will Beat Aurora Christian

IC Catholic Prep scored more points on the tough Montini Broncos defense than any other team Montini, who is ranked #3 in the state according to MaxPreps.com, has played this season, including Maine South, Marmion, and East St, Louis.

In fact, the Knights scored more points than East St. Louis, Wheaton Academy, St. Francis, and Marmion Academy did combined. And while IC did allow 38 points, that is a fairly average offensive output for the Broncos. They scored 34 against East St. Louis, 56 against Wheaton Academy, 30 against St. Francis, and 27 against Marmion.

Aurora Christian cannot underestimate the offensive power that is IC Catholic Prep. If they do, the Eagles will come away with a huge loss to not only their record, but their morale as well.

We are projecting an IC Catholic Prep victory this Saturday for a few reasons:

1.       Momentum

Find out what's happening in Elmhurstwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

-          IC is coming off of a great game against the Class 5A dynasty that is Montini. They pounded the ball against a great defense, and team morale in the IC locker room is higher now than it ever has been before.

-          AC is coming off of a devastating loss to Marmion. With the two hardest games of the year still remaining, the Eagles will need to refocus fast if they have any chance of coming out of this dangerous stretch relatively unscathed.

2.       Home Field Advantage

-          This Saturday is IC’s homecoming, the first on the school’s brand new turf athletic complex. There are going to be literally HUNDREDS of people in attendance, most of whom will be cheering for the Knights. The atmosphere that will be created by the fans will be something that Aurora Christian hasn’t really experienced yet this season. That could be a problem if IC starts to win, or come within reach.

3.       Team Camaraderie

-          Aurora Christian RB Legend Smith is playing against IC for the very first time. Having never seen the Knights before could be a problem for him, and the AC running game as a whole.

-          IC’s starters on both sides of the ball are all common names, with the exception of rotational running back Jordan Rowell who is a Freshman. They know each other very well, which could prove beneficial to this IC football team.

PROJECTED SCORE:

IC Catholic Prep 32 – 22 Aurora Christian
