YES Fest Debuts July 20
Free outdoor festival will
showcase local teen artists and performers
The brainchild of a group of York High School students and recent alumni, YES Fest
— with YES standing for Youth Elmhurst Showcase — will debut in Elmhurst
on Saturday, July 20. Free and open to the public, the
day-long event will be an opportunity to enjoy arts and entertainment by local
teens, from music and comedy to poetry readings, dance and visual artists selling their work. Refreshments also will be available for purchase. YES Fest will be held at Wild
Meadow Trace, near York Road and the Prairie Path. From 12 noon to 8 p.m.,
content will be appropriate for all ages; from 8 to 10 p.m., content will
appropriate for those over 13.
