Pessimism, sibling rivalry, & a ressurected goldfish

Most pessimists react to a problem in their life in three different ways:

Personal- They blame themselves for an event that has occurred.

Permanent- They think it will never get better.

Find out what's happening in Elmhurstwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Pervasive- They assume that failure in one area of life means failure in life as a whole.

Do we carry some of these traits?  Does it affect our parenting?  We discuss ways in how we can turn this around.

Find out what's happening in Elmhurstwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

We also discuss a few clips from both The Shawshank Redemption and Terms of Endearment.

We answer a listener’s question regarding a rivalry between her two sons- (ages 8 and 10) and how we almost lost a Goldie the goldfish.

Lastly we introduce our next virtual retreat “The Good Life” in celebration of Mother’s Day.
