Celebrate Summer One More Time at ParkPalooza

Chicago may boast summer street fests, but Elmhurst has a summer park fest – and best of all, it’s free.  And you don’t have to walk around for blocks in the hot sun.  Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy the music of Sons of the Never Wrong (5 p.m.) and The Matt Stedman Band (7:30 p.m.) on Saturday, August 24 from 5-10 p.m. at ParkPalooza in Berens Park.

The Sons of the Never Wrong is a Chicago-based folk music trio founded in 1992. Described as “a pop sound with brains” (WUMB Boston) and “One of folk music’s most distinctive trios” (Grand River Folk Arts Society), Sons are as good as it gets when it comes to skewing the notion of three-part harmony within original, whimsical songs.  For 20 years, Sons has been wowing their fans with their music, humor, and outrageously fun live shows.

The Matt Stedman Band is based out of Chicago and performs internationally for weddings, festivals, corporate events, universities, private parties, and live music venues. Featuring Grammy Award-winning talent, The Matt Stedman Band offers soloists, a duo, a trio, four-piece, five-piece, six-piece, seven-piece, eight-piece, nine-piece, and 10-piece groups. Whether the band is keeping dance floors filled, adding the right amount of ambiance to a laid-back atmosphere, or performing a concert for discerning listeners, The Matt Stedman Band adds the elements of style, versatility, and fun.

The fest will also feature Uncle Bub’s barbecue and a beer garden, and all amenities at The Hub will be open, including the sprayground, mini golf course, and batting cages.  Event sponsored by Community Bank of Elmhurst and Park Place of Elmhurst. Beer garden sponsored by the People for Elmhurst Parks Foundation, with proceeds going to the Rec Assistance Fund, which helps financially disadvantaged Elmhurst families participate in recreation programs.  ParkPalooza is free and open to all ages.  Come spend the evening under the stars in a beautiful setting with great music and good company!  For more information, email marketing@epd.org.
