"Doubtful Abbey: Murder and Mayhem at Fussworthy Manor"

"Doubtful Abbey: Murder and Mayhem at Fussworthy Manor" is set on the palatial estate of the Fussworthys in Britain during World War II. Guests are gathered for a birthday party for the Dowager Duchess, Lady Dolores Fussworthy. It is also, unbeknowst to the hosts, a gathering to raise funds for a West End musical. A jewel heist and murder ensue. This parody of the popular British television program "Downton Abbey" will serve as GreenMan's dinner theatre fundraiser for 2014. Audiences will be able to enjoy an interactive show as well as a full course Italian meal at Angelo's Ristorante at 247 N. York for 5 weekend performances between February 21-March 2, 2014.

This production was written and will be directed by GreenMan board member Carolyn Thomas-Davidoff (Western Springs). The cast includes Bill Boggs (Elmhurst), Kathy Bright (Lombard), Joe Collins (Chicago), Marilyn Connolly (Elmhurst), Maureen Denhof (Carol Stream), Denis Duffy (Arlington Heights), Jon Ehrenstrom (Alsip), Tom Hughes (Elmhurst), Marki Kaim (Elk Grove Village), Stan Kosek (Villa Park), Carolyn Larsen (Glen Ellyn), Shazad Mehta (Chicago), Jerry Moore (Lombard), Kitty Mortland (Chicago), Alice Rebecchi (Elmhurst), Mary-Carol Riehs (Elmhurst), Katie Monahan Soria (Lombard), Erick Sosa (Franklin Park), Ashley Thompson (Roselle), and Bruce Worthel (North Aurora).

"Doubtful Abbey: Murder and Mayhem at Fussworthy Manor" opens on Friday February 21 at 7 PM. Additional performances occur on Saturday February 22 at 7 PM, Friday February 28 at 7 PM, Saturday March 1 at 7 PM, and Sunday March 2 at 6 PM. Doors open an hour before showtime for a social hour with cash bar. The actors, as their characters, mingle among the audience, who may learn some of the backstories which could lead to clues about the crime within the play. This fun interaction continues on during the meal breaks throughout the evening. Tickets are $50, which includes the full course meal and performance. Free parking is abundantly available. Tickets may be reserved by calling the box office at 630-464-2646 or by visiting the GreenMan website at www.greenmantheatre.org. The sooner tickets are reserved, the closer to the center of the room patrons will be seated, ensuring a better perspective on the action. All tickets must be reserved and paid in advance. No tickets will be sold at the door in order to give the restaurant sufficient notice on a dinner count.
