Dominican University presents Reverend Ed Bacon of Oprah's Soul Series
Dominican University will present a lecture titled “8 Habits of
Love” by renowned reverend and peace advocate Ed Bacon on Thursday, October 3.
The lecture will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Martin Recital Hall, 7900 W.
Division Street, River Forest.
Bacon
is the rector of All Saints Church in Pasadena, CA, a 4,000-member,
multiethnic, urban, Episcopal parish with a reputation for energetic worship, a
radically inclusive spirit and a progressive peace and justice agenda. He is a founder
of Beyond Inclusion and Claiming the Blessing, an organization of Episcopalians
devoted to healing the rift between sexuality and spirituality in the Church
and promoting justice for the LGBT community, and a co-founder of the Abrahamic
Faiths Peacemaking Initiative. He serves on Human Rights Watch California
Committee South and other national and community boards.
Guest
appearances on Oprah’s Soul Series, Oprah Radio and The Oprah Winfrey Show led Bacon
to a regular role as guest host on Oprah’s Soul Series and contributor on
Oprah.com.

His
first book, 8 Habits of Love: Open Your
Heart, Open Your Mind, was published in September 2012 by Grand Central. The book is a spiritual guide to
living life through love and connection instead of fear and isolation. His
lecture will focus on these transformative habits. After the lecture, Bacon
will answer questions from the audience, then sign copies of his book.
