Bring Food Donations to Egg Hunt in Wilder Park

The annual Egg Hunt in Wilder Park is an Elmhurst classic, but this year, it’s not just about the eggs. At the Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19 at 10 a.m., the Elmhurst/Yorkfield Food Pantry, which helps feed hundreds of local families each month, will have a tent in the park and will be accepting food donations.  Donations of cash, grocery and drug store gift cards and non-perishable food items will be welcomed starting at 9 a.m.  Some of the most-needed food items include meal helpers such as Hamburger or Tuna Helpers, boxed Jell-O and pudding mixes, cereals, canned chili, canned pasta meals, canned meats and sloppy joes, creamed soups, salad dressing and condiments.  In addition, cleaning supplies and toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorant) are also welcome.  All donations are tax deductible and receipts will be available at the event.

The Elmhurst/Yorkfield Food Pantry will also be accepting dog food and treats donations to coincide with the Doggie Eggstravaganza immediately following the Egg Hunt.  For more information, contact marketing@epd.org.
