Sustainable Stormwater Solutions for Homeowners

Elmhurst Cool Cities Coalition hosts Jim Kleinwachter, Land Protection Specialist and Conservation@Home Program Manager for The Conservation Foundation, to share "Sustainable Stormwater Solutions for Homeowners." Join us on Tuesday, August 5, 7 p.m. at the Elmhurst Public Library. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend this free event.

Kleinwachter will share ways for homeowners to reduce the collection of stormwater on their property, helping to alleviate flooding and supporting the health of our environment.

Learn about rain gardens, rain barrels, permeable pavement, cisterns and bioswales. Utilizing one or more of these solutions on your property can mitigate standing water in backyards and reduce property damage; turn low, wet areas into functioning landscapes; create natural habitats for birds and butterflies; and beautify your space.
