1997 - Current site of Elmhurst Art Museum opens in Wilder Park

The whole building process of the Elmhurst Art Museum, including the restoration of the forty-year-old McCormick House, was completed in 1997. A three-day Grand Opening celebration took place in September of that year. The Elmhurst Art Museum has been named “Best Suburban Art Museum in Chicago” by Chicago Magazine.
