Soothe Yourself with Mellow Music Surrounded by Nature

Escape to the sweet sounds of a soulful all-saxophone ensemble.

Try to take some time out of your busy weekend to enjoy the Solaire Quartet, which will perform at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at the Morton Arboretum, 4100 Route 53, just north of I-88, Lisle.

The Solaire Quartet is a lively, all-sax group that performs a diverse repertoire. Members of this virtuosic saxophone ensemble have performed across the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia as soloists and with orchestras including the Chicago Civic, Thessaloniki State (Greece), Bruno Madera (Italy) and Tokyo Sinfonia, along with many others. Their music has been described as "surprising and engaging."

The group's goal is to bring a culturally-rich program to a wide audience. For this concert, the program will include works by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759), Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) and David Maslanka (born 1943).

Sample the group’s music at solairequartet.com/Listen.html.

Concert tickets are $28/person; Arboretum members receive discounts. Tickets may be ordered by calling 630-725-2066.

The concert will be held in the Thornhill Education Center auditorium. A reception will follow, where the audience will have an opportunity to mingle with the musicians, and enjoy a pleasant end to the concert.
