Weekend Storm Produced Heavy Rain and Damage, But Mostly Clear Skies Are Ahead

The storm that blew through Elmhurst Saturday, Aug. 4, brought some much needed rain, but it also brought tragedy for one Elmhurst family,

Stormy weather appears to be behind us now, and the next few days look pleasant and mild. Here's how the week will take shape, according to the National Weather Service:

Monday: Sunny with a high of 86 degrees and no chance of rain. The low will be 65 degrees.

Tuesday: Isolated thunderstorms with a high of 91 degrees. Chance of rain is 30 percent. Expect a low of 71 degrees.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy and a high of 85, with a 10 percent chance of rain. Low will be 68 degrees.

Thursday: A 40 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms with a high of 84 degrees by day and a low of 65 at night.

Friday: The weekend kicks off under mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 70s. No rain is expected. The low will be 63.
