Lizzadro Museum Closes Lower Level Due to Flood Damage

Museum is tentatively scheduled to reopen all areas April 23.

The Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art at Elmhurst's Wilder Park sustained flood damage this week, causing museum staff to close the lower level.

The exhibits were not damaged, according to a statement from the museum, but the Rock and Mineral Experience and the Museum Shop will remain closed through Sunday, April 21. The lower level will tentatively reopen on Tuesday, April 23.

Dynamic Earth Day, which was to include earth-related activities for children in kindergarten through fourth grade, has been canceled for Saturday, April 20.

The museum's upper level exhibits will remain open, and Museum Shop orders and inquiries can be place online or by phone.
