It's Almost Time for Bootiful Saturday at Elmhurst City Centre

Family friendly event includes a free showing of "How to Train Your Dragon."

Chilly weather and sunny skies await little ghosts and ghouls for the annual Elmhurst City Centre Bootiful Saturday event in downtown Elmhurst.

Kids and their parents can enjoy a special free presentation of "How to Train Your Dragon" (PG) at the York Theatre at 9:30 a.m. Based on the book by Cressida Cowell, this action comedy tells the story of Hiccup, a viking teenager who doesn’t exactly fit in with his tribe’s longstanding tradition of heroic dragon slayers. Hiccup's world is turned upside down when he encounters a dragon that challenges him and his fellow Vikings to see the world from an entirely different point of view.

Doors open at 9 a.m. But that's not all. Kids should be sure to wear their costumes for trick or treating at participating stores throughout downtown from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Look for posters in store windows for a treat—and don't forget to bring a treat bag.

You'll find free pumpkin patches, clowns and more all over City Centre.

The forecast calls for a high of 48 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, so a little extra bundling may be in order.
