Today is the Deadline to Submit Initial Flood Damage Assessment Form

It's the first step in qualifying for FEMA assistance.

Residents who sustained flood damage are being asked to fill out an initial damage assessment form online by Wednesday, April 24, as the first step in qualifying for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, according to a statement from the City of Elmhurst Monday.

The form is available online at the city's storm/flood information page. The page also includes information on repairing your flooded home, vaccinations, Salt Creek Data and more.

Submitting the initial damage assessment form does not automatically sign residents up for FEMA aid. Once FEMA aid is made available, residents will have to follow up with additional applications and forms. Information will be provided on the city's website in the coming days.

In order to determine if the area will qualify as a Federal Disaster Area, damages will need to be assessed.
