How Will You Ring in 2013?

Here are a few suggestions for those who still don't have plans.

There are plenty of options for celebrating New Year's Eve this year, and several businesses right here in Elmhurst are hosting parties. This is only a sampling; please tell us what you're doing this year in the comments below.

The Hot Sauce Committee will be upstairs, DJ Jimmy downstairs at Fitz's. Enjoy an open bar from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., balloon drop, champagne toast and a midnight buffet. Whether you want to pre-game with a movie, or the movie is the main event, York Theatre is the place to be. Nearly every movie time on Monday, Dec. 31, will have you out of the theater before midnight so you can enjoy a countdown somewhere. There's really something for everyone playing on Monday, Dec. 31: Django Unchanged (R), The Guilt Trip (PG-13), Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in 3D (PG-13), Jack Reacher (PG-13), Les Miserables (PG-13), Lincoln (PG-13), Monsters Inc. 3D (G), Parental Guidance (PG), Rise of the Guardians (PG), and This is 40 (R). Mack's Golden Pheasant, 668 W. North Ave.
Celebrate New Year's Eve with dinner at Mack's—and you're almost sure to run into an old friend. For $29.95 a person, you'll get a multi-course dinner. Entree choices include roast duck, pork tenderloin, almond crusted tilapia and chicken oscar. For $39.95, you'll get a multi-course dinner with entree choices that include filet mignon and crab legs. Flight 112 Wine House, 112 W. Park Ave.
Flight 112 will ring in the new year with a masquerade party. Dress for a masquerade and run into that masked woman or man. $30 for Cajun-style buffet and a champagne toast. Menu includes Gumbo yaya, muffaletta sandwich, Cajun-style chicken and black beans, red beans and ham jambalaya, white bean and artichoke puree, bananas foster sauce on pecan pie. Embers

Waterford Banquet and Conference Center, 933 S. Riverside Drive
Ring in 2013 dressed to kill at the Waterford. Test your secret agent skills at our Casino Royale themed party. Four-hour premium bar and champagne toast, cruise-style buffet, balloon drop at midnite and party favors. Dress is formal and the party starts at 8 p.m. Discount hotel rates are available. Tickets are $100.
