Best of Craigslist: $4250 Golf Bag; Kitten Needed, Stat!

$4250 Golf Bag 

I learned today that former French president Nicolas Sarkozy gifted President Obama a $7,750 golf bag at one point (he didn’t keep it.) Don’t quite get that, and I certainly don’t quite get why this garage-sale-looking bag out of Elmhurst is worth $4,250, the price of eight and a half rounds at Pebble Beach, or about 100 at White Pines. But apparently it’s “rare,” and if that’s good enough for you, get your checkbook out!

Kitten Needed, Stat!

Kitten emergency! Kitten needed right now in Villa Park! Preferably five-to-seven weeks old, and tiger-striped.  “I need a kitten tonight!” the post demands. Yikes, I wonder what the emergency was? This poster wanted his/her kitten “tonight” as of a few days ago… I guess I hope he/she got it?

Massive Adorable Stuffed Puppy

If you don’t want to hug this stuffed husky, you may have no soul. Forty-two inches tall, thirty inches wide and 100 percent lovable. Look, his tongue is even sticking out! Aww. Going for $30 in Glen Ellyn. 

$400 for Four Bottles of Beer 

What serendipitous timing: the Dark Lord Day festival, billed as “the only day of the year to buy Three Floyds Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout,” is actually today, Saturday, in Munster, IN. Didn’t get tickets? Missed out on the last four years, too? Well, for “just” $400, you can get four bottles of the Dark Lord, sold exclusively to festival ticketholders, one from each of 2009-2012 from this Villa Park seller. I wonder if you drink them chronologically, and what kind of meal you’re supposed to pair with a $100 beer.

Donate Extra Stuff for Flood Victims 

Got some stuff that you don’t need? Someone in Wheaton is collecting spare stuff for a “Free Stuff for Flood Victims Garage Giveaway,” giving away all of his/her “unnecessary objects” to help out neighbors who lost tons of stuff to the floodwaters, and encouraging you to do the same. They’re looking to hold the day in May, but are hoping to find donors now, and they say it’s better than a thrift shop because they’ll give it away for free and won’t throw anything out. 

Fight “Chemtrails” with a Bunch of Rocks

Or, alternatively, you could do as this other Wheaton poster suggests and create “medicine wheels” to save the trees from “all the aluminum oxides being sprayed daily by our own military jets.” Up to you!
