The Marklund Resale Store Lends a Helping Hand

The Marklund Resale store is ready to help you with your Spring projects! Marklund Resale Store, located at 490 Georgetown Square in Wooddale, understands that Spring is the time of year for households to clean up the house of any items that they have no use for. This is where the Marklund Resale Store can help. Recently renovated, the 10,000 square-foot resale store will take new and used clothing, new and used furniture, housewares, books, electronics, and seasonal items. The items that are donated to the store support Marklund, a nonprofit organization that serves individuals with severe and profound developmental disabilities.

Tax season is upon us, and donors will receive tax deduction receipts and may have their furniture and other items picked up by the Resale Store staff if they so choose. Donations can be made at the resale store and, with the exception of furniture, at donation bins located at the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Children’s Home in Bloomingdale. Donated furniture must be in good condition, which means no tears, stains or peculiar odors.

“In the next week or so, the Resale Store will be putting out new dresses that we received from Lemon Loves Lime, just in time for Easter, “stated Theresa Amoroso, manager of the Marklund Resale Store. “Also next month we will have brand new product from the housewares show for sale. Come and stock up on items such as containers, cleaning supplies, kitchen utensils, small appliances, office organization, and more!”
