FED ECONOMIST IS KEYNOTE AT MULTI-CHAMBER LUNCHEON

ELMHURST, Ill, February 18, 2014 – Noted economic expert William A. Strauss of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will be the Keynote Speaker for the 12th Annual Multi-Chamber Economic Forecast Luncheon at the Oak Brook Hills Resort, 3500 Midwest Road, Oak Brook, on Thursday, February 27, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The luncheon has been co-sponsored by the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Westmont Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau since 2003.

            “This luncheon provides our members with an opportunity to hear an insider’s take on the economy and network with members from neighboring communities,” said John R. Quigley, Elmhurst Chamber President and CEO since 1999.

            Sponsoring chambers of commerce include the Clarendon Hills, Darien, Downers Grove, Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, Lemont, Lisle, West Suburban, Woodridge and Willowbrook-Burr Ridge. 

            Williams Strauss is a Senior Economist and Economic Advisor in the Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, which he joined in 1982.

Making his seventh appearance, Strauss follows in the footsteps of his contemporary in business economics, Carl Tannenbaum, who keynoted the first five luncheons.

            Registration, vendor exhibiting and networking run from 11 a.m. until lunch at 11:55 a.m.

            Lunch costs are $30.00 per person for members of the sponsoring chambers and $35 per non-member.  Exhibitor space is $50, plus $10 if electricity is needed.  Sponsorships are $500.
