Elmhurst City Center Welcomes Rouse, a New Clothing and Gift Store

This Saturday, Oct. 6, Rouse will offer an array of activities to help patrons awaken their creativity.

To celebrate its grand-opening Saturday, Oct. 6, Rouse co-owners Leslie Pozen (creator of Ellu handbags) and Angie Pool, a business woman with a love for fashion, will host an array of activities and specials from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. The grand opening will include representation from Bobiam, an artistic streetwear company from Minneapolis that only features work from youth artists.

Joel Baardseth of Bobiam will hold classes in technique for children under 18.  From 9 a.m. to noon, children 11 and under can drop in and participate in one of the various creative stations.  From 1 to  3 p.m., youth ages 12  to 18 are invited to learn how to take their artistic talents to a new level by submitting their creation to be chosen as an exclusive T-shirt to be sold at Rouse.

From 6 to 9 p.m., adults can experience the merchandise, which includes inspired gifts, clothing and jewelry created by local artists while enjoying live music, and fine artist/illustrator Samantha DeCarlo will host a live painting session. The three items created will be auctioned off, with proceeds going to a local Illinois charity.

Rouse (pronounced "rowz") prides itself on carrying expressive, socially conscious clothing and specialty items. Brands include Feed Projects, Raven and Lily, and items from Bobiam, all of which donate proceeds to charitable organizations. Rouse will also offer workshops that cultivate creativity to encourage people to awaken their inner artist, along with specialty yoga and meditation classes, children's birthday parties, express book clubs, and much more.

"The best way to honor your true self is to discover what you love to do and do it," says co-owner Pozen.

Shoppers will certainly have every opportunity to do just that when Rouse opens it’s doors Saturday.

Rouse is located at 132 N. Addison Ave. in Elmhurst. For more information, call (630) 501-0906 or visit www.rouseelmhurst.com.
