Alan Brinkmeier Named a 2012 Illinois Super Lawyer

Brinkmeier also 'Highly Recommended' for judge position by the DuPage Bar.

The February 2012 edition of Chicago Magazine lists longtime Elmhurst resident Alan Brinkmeier as a 2012 Illinois Super Lawyer. Brinkmeier, selected by his peers across the state who were asked to name the best lawyers they had seen in action, is among a distinguished few Illinois attorneys selected for this honor. Less than 5 percent of Illinois lawyers are chosen.

Super Lawyers is a rating service of lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a rigorous multi-phased process that includes a statewide survey, an independent research evaluation and peer reviews by practice area.

Prior to starting his own Elmhurst firm, Brinkmeier practiced for many years with his firm in Chicago, where he tried many lawsuits while representing municipalities, large aviation companies, air carriers and catastrophic loss insurers. He continues to utilize that experience to represent his clients. In 2009, he founded an Elmhurst firm with a vision to provide quality local legal services. Brinkmeier has been named Illinois Super Lawyer since 2005.

He is very active as a volunteer and holds many leadership and appointed positions throughout the community. He has served 15 years as an Elmhurst Planning and Zoning commissioner and has served as a trustee for Elmhurst College since 1997.  At the college he is a board member for BlueJay Backers.  He also serves on the York High School Athletic Boosters Board of Directors and is president of the Elmhurst Swim Team.

Brinkmeier also was named "Highly Recommended" by the DuPage County Bar Association Judiciary Committee, which rates applicants seeking to fill the DuPage associate judge vacancy. The recommendations are the result of an investigation and screening process conducted by the committee, which consists of 16 attorneys who are appointed for a three year term by the DCBA president and approved by the DCBA Board and three DCBA past-presidents.

Candidates are evaluated on legal knowledge and ability, integrity, judicial temperament, diligence and punctuality, and health.

Elmhurst resident Scott Hardek also was rated Highly Recommended for the position.
