A Chicago mom's daughter was bullied over, of all things, a Star Wars thermos she took to school for lunch. She was called names and taunted because her classmates thought the movie-themed drink container was just for boys.
Patch covered an event Goldman spoke at last year. Among other things, she recommended that if your child is being bullied you should keep a written record of the incidents – no feelings, no emotions, just hard facts – the date, the time, who was involved and what happened. This keeps everyone more rational and clear thinking if the matter has to be addressed on a higher level.
