York High School Fine Arts Week Begins March 4

Students will get to see lots of local talent during the day, and the public is invited to a talent show Wednesday and Thursday night at York.

Fine Arts Week provides York students the opportunity to hear student, collegiate and professional groups from the Chicagoland area.

The mission of Fine Arts Week is to expose students to the many different forms of artistic expression. The week includes performances by Elmhurst College and College of DuPage, local musicians, and performances from several of the student performing arts groups, including Jazz Band, Speech Team, Sketch Comedy Club, Amateur Musicians Club and Group Interpretation.

The events of the week are largely planned, organized and directed by the students.

On Wednesday and Thursday night, March 6 and 7, an evening talent show, open to the public, will be held in the auditorium at York, 355 W. St. Charles Road. Tickets are $7, and all money raised goes towards bringing the performers to York for Fine Arts Week.
